Formerly known as Pepsi MLB PHR, is a free skills competition that provides boys and girls, ages 7 to 14, the opportunity to showcase their pitching, hitting and running abilities. Winners can advance through four levels of competition, including Team. Championship events at the 30 Major League ballparks and the National Finals at the MLB All-Star Game.
3 EVENTS
"The Pitch" - Try to throw strikes like major league pitchers by taking a shot at hitting the MLB Strike Zone.
"The Hit" - Swing away at home plate! Just like big leaguers you'll be judged on distance and accuracy.
"The Run" - Start at second base and head for home to test your speed at running the bases.
The OVYL complex will be utilized for this event from approx. 8:30am to noon on this date. We need 30 participants but could have as many as 100 or more ~ any boy or girl ages 7-14 can participate.
We would appreciate your help in spreading the word to your coaches, parents, and team members.
You can have them check out the www.ovyl.org site for more info. Assistance will be needed in parking, concession stand, registration and the pitch, hit and run events. Our next meeting will be held on Sunday, April 20th at 4pm at the OVYL complex for all interested parties (volunteers, etc.). Please contact me with any volunteer names, telephone number, email, etc. ~ we would sincerely appreciate all their help.
We are also selling Chicken BBQ the day of the event. Please see me for tickets at $7 each.This is a great event for young boys and girls to come to the OVYL and have some fun!
